For emergencies on Lough Neagh and it’s tributary rivers call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

Callout 513

Lough Neagh Rescue was tasked by HMCG at 16:49 to a vessel west of Rams Island holding anchor in need of assistance. Both Ardboe and Kinnego lifeboats launched. Ardboe was quickly on scene and assessed that this vessel had broken its rudder and was unable to sail. The casualty was fine but tired. He was taken on board the lifeboat which made a two hour tow to Toome Canal to make repairs. Here he was met by Lough Neagh Coastguard officers whom gave him advice and assistance. The casualty was doing a charity challenge covering 5000 miles around the coast of Ireland including its loughs and rivers.
