ALWAYS

  • Always respect other Lough users.
  • Always wear a life jacket.
  • Always tell someone where you are going.
  • Always slow down when in an enclosed harbour or approaching a slipway.
  • Always acquaint yourself with safety procedures governing your sport/recreation.
  • Always have an emergency accident plan.
  • Always fit a Radar Reflector if you intend to sail at night

NEVER

  • Never cause pollution by littering or discharging waste into the Lough.
  • Never cause an excessive wake near shoreline.
  • Never disturb nesting wildlife.
  • Never set sail without checking weather forecasts and navigational information.
  • Never ignore warning/instructional signs, they are for your protection
