Lifeboats paged at 3:06pm by Belfast Coastguard to reports of a Personal Locator Beacon being activated.
Lifeboats launched quickly and a search area within the Antrim Bay was identified.
After a short search along with PSNI Helicopter P44 and a local training vessel, a 20ft sailing boat was spotted capsized with 2 persons on board.
Both individuals were pulled from the water and placed into our lifeboats where medical treatment was administered.
Both individuals were brought ashore to receive further treatment from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.
Once the individuals where handed over to our NIAS colleagues we retrieve the casualty vessel and returned it to its mooring.
Lifeboats returned to base, washed and Refuelled ready to be tasked.
