For emergencies on Lough Neagh and it’s tributary rivers call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

Tasked at 10:47 by CGOC Belfast Coastguard to a vessel run aground with two persons onboard.
Lifeboats’ launched and quickly located the vessel which was in extremely shallow water.
The crew had to carry out a lee-shore rescue which involves the crew entering the water and swimming to the stricken vessel with the tow rope.
Once tow line was secured the vessel was took into deeper water and accessed for damage before being towed into Maghery slipway and handed over to the awaiting Lough Neagh Coastguard Rescue Team
Lifeboats’ returned to base and made ready for next tasking.
