Lifeboats and shore crew tasked at 01:13 by CGOC Belfast Coastguard to a vessel with at least 2 persons on board that reported taking on water in the Ballyronan area.
An extensive search commenced from the eastern and northern areas of the Lough. With the assistance of the PSNI helicopter the casualty vessel was located and the lifeboats proceeded to the casualty vessel. Our crews assessed the vessel for any damage and the persons on board before securing a tow line and commencing a tow back to Ballyronan marina.
The casualty vessel was safely secured to the jetty and those on board brought safely to shore and handed into the care of the awaiting Lough Neagh Coastguard Rescue Team alongside PSNI
