Callout 608

At 19.51Hrs HM Coastguard Tasked Lough Neagh Rescue to search for a cruiser with 3 persons on board which was reported as drifting due to engine failure. The vessel had left Rams Island and was on route to Sandy Bay Marina when they experienced engine failure.
Both Ardboe and Kinnego Lifeboats launched and proceeded to the area to commence searching.
The casualty vessel was then located just off Tunny point, after being assessed for damage and given the all clear a tow line was connected and the vessel was towed into Sandy Bay Marina. The vessel was moored safely alongside the jetty and the persons on board were handed into the care of the awaiting Coastguard team. Both lifeboats returned to base.
