For emergencies on Lough Neagh and it’s tributary rivers call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

Callout 527

HMCG tasked Lough Neagh Rescue at 11:40am to a Shetland cruiser stranded on the east shore near Ardmore with 4 persons on board. Ardboe Lifeboat was quickly on scene to find the cruiser south of Ballyginiff sand quay. Once on scene the skipper of the vessel managed to get his aux engine running but was afraid he hadn’t enough fuel to return back to Antrim marina, so the lifeboat escorted vessel back to berth while standing by to pick up the tow if needed. Cox gave advice and returned back to station. 3 assisted.
