There was a full turnout for Exercise South Lake on Tuesday evening. The Exercise is designed to test the response of our Fast Water & Flood Response vehicle in the Borough and beyond. The four man crew where given an Exercise overview and Health & Safety briefing before beginning and a Crew Chief was appointed.
We will in the coming weeks put every crew member through this exercise. The lessons we have learned in one evening will go a long way in the upskilling of the crews. These are scenarios we have never faced before. Some equipment was borrowed and some could be of a higher standard. The Station Officers will take the recommendations away and work together on new procurement.
One thing the crew did acknowledge was that they knew they had done a nights work before they had finished.
