For emergencies on Lough Neagh and it’s tributary rivers call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

British Red Cross Demonstration & Training Day

This weekend a convoy of vehicles from the British red Cross descended on Kinnego Marina to let local Emergency Responders have a look at their Flood Response Units. The day was very informative with MCA,LNR,NIAS, and NIFRS all taking part. This was the first multi agency get together to discuss the way forward in this important area. BRC briefed our crews in what they do, with their Director of Operations Ian Rideout spending quite a bit of time with the Antrim crew giving the rationale for their choice of equipment. Safe to say, this was a milestone visit by the BRC and has given us plenty to think about.

*Important Fact*  The BRC have identified Northern Ireland as the area, most likely to flood in the whole of the UK.
