Lough Neagh Rescue was tasked by HMG at 18.50 to reports that a dog was in the water near Derryadd Point. One unit was launched and quickly arrived on scene. A small fishing boat was in The Closet searching for the dog and it soon became clear that the dog had made it to shore. The lifeboat returned to base and a number of crew went by road to the scene. There were a number of sightings of the dog around the Discovery Centre area however it was not recovered due to the large search area. While carrying out the search a member of the public raised the alarm that a bin was on fire at the Discovery Centre. The crew quickly arrived on scene and successfully extinguished the fire. The crew was back on station at 20.45.
